Legal Staff School instructors are accomplished attorneys, legal assistants & secretaries, legal professors and recent graduates.
We strive to provide students with real world experience from real world professionals. You will learn from the people who have performed as a legal assistant and who have relied on legal assistants. The Legal Staff School partners with a vast network of professionals who take part in your education. Some of our mainstays are listed below, but guest speakers are a regular occurrence for our Saturday classes.

Alex M. Smith – Instructor
Alex received his Bachelors of Science degree from Georgia Southwestern State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of District of Columbia David A Clarke School of Law. While in law school, Alex interned for The Cochran Firm’s Washington, D.C. office, and worked as a student attorney litigating landlord-tenant cases in Washington, D.C. Immediately after law school, Alex was hired as an associate in a Marietta, Georgia law firm. While there, he successfully assisted in resolving numerous personal injury (including complex medical malpractice) cases.
Alex also engages in residential real estate investing throughout Georgia. Alex takes pride in understanding both the legal and business aspects of real estate. He enjoys living in downtown Atlanta, and is thrilled about Atlanta’s Beltline project that is bringing the city together one neighborhood at a time.
Krista Shirilla – Instructor
Krista received her Bachelor’s in English Education from the University of Georgia and her Master’s in English Education from Georgia State University. After teaching Georgia high school students for ten years, Krista decided to pursue her lifelong interest in the legal field. Krista trained to be a Legal Assistant and currently works for a Personal Injury Attorney in Atlanta.
Janet Waldron – Instructor/Program Coordinator
Janet is a Legal Administrative Assistant and owner and President of the Legal and Dental Staff School. Janet has been working with Law404 to create another great career path for students. Janet handles the day to day operations of the Legal Staff School and provides our students with support throughout their time in class as well as after they have graduated. She is a mentor for our students and is available to assist them anytime. She meets with students, potential employers and other instructors to ensure that our students are prepared to enter the work force in the legal field. A critical part of Janet’s duties is job placement for our students. She works diligently with our resources to give our graduates every opportunity to succeed.
